Hi classmates!
We started the class by reading and doing a questionnaire on page 30 (are you harsh or lenient?), using different vocabulary about crime and punishment. After that, in groups, everyone discussed the questions giving several reasons.
Some vocabulary +we learned about that:
ü To be evicted: ser dasalojadosü Let off with a warning: dejar +ir con una advertencia.
ü To cut class = to skip class = to play truant: "Ausente" "faltar".
ü Vagrant: pobre.
ü The city has plenty of graffit: la ciudad esta llena de grafitis.
ü Tough day: día duro
ü Go straight: "enderezarse"
ü Minor offerences = petty crime: delitos menores.
ü Shoplifting: pequeños hurtos.
ü Row /row/: discutir gritando
ü Row /raow/: remar
ü Partner in crime: cómplice… también se usa como "colega"
After that, we had to think +up one punishment -about +[for the] different expressions that José Luis wrote on the blackboard:
ü Jay-walking: cruzar indevidamente.ü Arson: incendio provocado.
ü Rape: violación.
ü Smuggling: contrabando.
ü Libel: difamación.
ü Manslaughter: homicidio.
ü Jobbery: corrupción
ü Pink-pocketing: carterista.
ü Drug dealing: camello [esto es el trapicheo, el camello es "drug dealer" / "drug pusher"]
Besides, we did the exercises on page 31, choosing between different verb forms.
At the end of the class, we listened +TO the audio 3.6. Next day, we'll listen to the audio again.
We have to do some homework all the exercises on page 138
See you on next day!
