Hi, dear classmates!
I have chosen a video about stranded whales in New Zealand. Whales are the biggest mammals in the world and the pilot whale is the most common species of whale in New Zealand.
The video shows us how some people helped whales to return back to the sea and how this people worked tirelessly although they weren't able to save all the whales.
When the whales were stranded on the sand, the volunteers kept the skin of the whales wet by throwing water buckets on them. After that, the volunteers dragged the whales towards sea and they tried to refloat them. Some of the whales came back to the deep sea.
In the end, 46 whales were saved but, unfortunately, despite the efforts 24 pilot whales died on the beach.
See you soon!
