Hi everybody,

I,m going to -talk +tell you about the summary of +T -thursday, 11th of March.

  •      At the beginning of the class, we corrected +the exercises on page 143 about future forms:
1.- Plans and decisions in the future:
Will: for decision made at the moment of speaking
A: Have you -decides +decided what to wear to the party?
B: I´ll just wear my red dress
BE CAREFUL: If+Will-----Se matan ( (idem with when, after, in case, as long as, as soon as, once, unless, until, etc)
Be going to: present intentions for the future
Next year, I´m going to travel to Australia
Present Continuous:  for plans we have arranged for the future
                                             I´m getting married in June
The use of Going to and the Present continuous is very similar, the difference is how -[of fixing is the plan] +[ fixed / determined / certain the plan is]
I´m going to get married before I´m 30
                                             I´m getting married in June
Present Simple: For actions in the future set with a regular timetable or officially
The match begins at 9 o´clock
Future continuous: For actions that will happen without any particular plan or intention.
Do you want a lift? I´ll be passing +by the end of your road.
Other phrases: I´ve decided to..., I´m hoping to..., I´m planning to..., I´m thinking of...
The meaning of future of  these structures -are +is in  meaning of the verb, not in the tense

                   2.- Predictions:
When the predictions -is +are based on evidences
(there are a lot of black clouds) Tomorrow it´s going to rain
When the predictions -is +are based on beliefs
                                           Don´t worry, she´ll understand it
To express a simple fact about the future
My birthday will be on Saturday this year
Other phrases to make predictions: to be certain to..., to be likely..., to be bound..., I bet...
My mother is bound to buy me a pair of shoes for my birthday

    • Then, we did Practice of Unit 05  on page 47 to complete with the correct future form, but sometimes there is more than one correct answer, besides -We +we don´t know the full context of the conversations.

    • Some vocabulary and expressions that we learned this day:

Do you fancy coming?= Te apetece venir
I tell you what= Sabes lo que te digo?
To win s/b or s/t over= ganarse a alguien o algo. He won me over
Produce (n)= producto de la tierra y Product (n)= Producto en general
    • Finally we practiced our listening skills by doing a "pilot" listening exam-[,] +[.] I -[don´t fell] +[didn't feel / don't think it was] very difficult, the only problem +was the distraction factor.

    That`s all friends

    Almudena
